When I think of what this country and the world needs, the first thing to come to mind is caffeinated doughnuts. Maybe they should add nicotine too, to cover all the bases. Marlboro Doughnuts: coming soon to a Starbucks near you.
January 2007
Does anybody know when we started down the path to destruction? When did corporations infiltrate the political system and corrupt every single member of our governing bodies? Rarely is a word uttered by a member of any branch that is not tainted by some sort of affiliation.
I find it hard to believe anything uttered by any politician.
Border Patrol Agents Headed to Jail for Doing Their Job
Picture this: a truck is stopped by Border Patrol agents. They find the driver to be an illegal alien. While attempting to take him into custody, one of the agents trips and the driver flees. The agents fire, and the suspect is hit once in the buttocks, unknown to the agents. The agents throw away the shell casings and leave the incident out of their report. They discover nearly 750 pounds of marijuana in the vehicle. The smuggler is treated in an American hospital and released, and then files a lawsuit against the government demanding $5 million. The agents are taken into custody and the prosecutor releases a statement: “My job and the job of federal prosecutors is to enforce the laws as best we can. If law enforcement officers break the law, they have to face the consequences just as anyone else.” The smuggler is given immunity against the drug charges in return for testifying against the Border Patrol agents.
Sounds crazy, but it’s true. I’d like to ask the prosecutor for his definition of “as best we can.” Does “as best we can” involve giving a known criminal immunity so you can jail the people who were trying to bring him to justice? The agents were found guilty of violating his civil rights when they shot him. What rights is he entitled to? He illegally enters the country with a truckload of illegal material, and then he resists arrest. What am I missing here? Yes, the agents made a poor decision by omitting it from their report and destroying evidence, but where does it say the drug smuggler is supposed to go free and be able to sue? This whole situation is appalling. Then again, the way our government has [not] dealt with the southern border is appalling, so I guess it makes sense.
I just hope agents Ramos and Compean don’t have to pay the price for doing their jobs and trying to protect our country. And I hope that illegal drug smuggling sack of crap is laughed back to Mexico where he belongs, and if he tries to come back, I hope the bullet hits him a couple feet higher.
It’s often hard to see past the surface in life. I wish more people would take the time to think for themselves and form their own opinions. “Everyone says it’s true” is not a valid point in a discussion. If you don’t know, it’s ok, as long as you admit it. Don’t claim to know about something because you caught two minutes of a news story. Get as much info as you can, and use your brain. You may be right, you may be wrong, or there may be no right or wrong, but at least you’re thinking about it.
We have a new House majority leader.
It’s certainly a first; a woman has never held the post before now. That fact would probably account for some amount of recognition, but not the type of nonsense that the self-proclaimed “most powerful woman in America” decided to stuff down the country’s throat in the days surrounding the transfer of the gavel. Because it’s all about her, didn’t you know?
It’s time to fight the global scourge. It’s time to open our eyes. It’s time to realize that if something is not done, our world will be destroyed by this disease of the mind. It’s time for people to step up and take responsibility for their actions and their lives, and it’s time for people who refuse to do so to be called on it.
We have to take a stand.
It’s time to fight avoision.
